Are you a complete gym rat like me? I love working out and have been a bikini competitor for many years. Unfortunately, I live far from a public gym now and have to find ways of working out at home. So I created a home gym.

Just a few months ago, I was struggling to find the motivation to exercise regularly. The thought of driving to the gym after a long day at work seemed daunting, and I needed a solution that would fit into my lifestyle seamlessly. That’s when my husband and I decided to put a shed in the backyard to use as a gym. Before that, I was using a corner in the garage and sometimes just the living room with a mat and some dumbbells.

With a little research and a lot of enthusiasm, I embarked on a mission to create a home gym that would rival any professional fitness center. Now, every morning I wake up knowing that I have a dedicated space to exercise and challenge myself. Whether it’s a high-intensity cardio session or a peaceful yoga practice, my DIY home gym has become my personal haven for physical and mental wellness.

Ideas for Must-Have Equipment

There are some essential equipment pieces that you need to complete a workout. Beyond free weights and a bench. It’s useful to have some kind of cable machine to do your pull exercises or a functional trainer so you can use two cables, as well as a leg extension and curl machine. Ideas for Cardio Equipment

No workout is complete without cardio exercise. Spending an extra 20-30 minutes on cardio after lifting can really burn the body fat. Good cardio machines are not as expensive as you might think. Here’s some of my favorite, most flexible, cardio machines to choose from for your home gym:
